RE: Bike thread! (way, way off topic)

Hey, now... don't pick on Shannon. He was raised in Iowa and is merely a
product of his environment. Of course, you'd think he'd at least have a
dirt bike or ATV or something but that's another story!

In Shannon's mind, the Ducati is the Ferrari... no, make that the HOLY GRAIL
of motorcycles... but I'm trying to get the boy hooked up with a decent used
Jap sport bike. Better bang for your buck, IMHO. Besides, beggars can't be
choosers! ;)

Me? I'm pretty happy with my '97 CBR 1100 XX. It's a big bike (550 lbs
"wet"/fully loaded) and therefore not something you can take to the track
and win races with but it's awesome on the street. With 136 horsepower, I'd
need well over 500 HP in the 'Rocco to equal that power to weight ratio!
This bike doesn't just burn rice, it does NUCLEAR FUSION with rice. The
only sad part is the XX is becoming "old school" now with the heavyweights
from Suzuki and Kawasaki on the market now sporting as much as 160 HP and
great gooey GOBS of torque.
