Re: 2008 CC Engine progress
Hey Scott,
I chose the Mahle 83.0 mm cast pistons that yield a 10.8:1 compression
ratio. I got them from Potterman for $425 and then my bill from my local
machine shop was about $400. The machine shop did: Bore, hone, balance,
pressed in new intermediate shaft bearings, pressed in new wrist pin
bushings, pressed in new rod bolts and resized the rods. I think that was
it.
I made a ton more progress last night. Just about everything is done except
for the fluids and the battery. Still planning to fire it up on Wednesday
night. I'm a little nervous, but very excited. This is the first motor I've
rebuilt and I've learned a lot.
I'd like to see yours. I followed the link on your email, but wasn't able to
find it. Let me know where it is.
