Re: CV joint and Car experience




I've found that success on removing the LH driveshaft varies depending on
how far to the left or right the engine/transmission assembly is
installed.  If it is reasonably well centred, there should be enough
clearance to remove the LH driveshaft (on the A1 chassis.)  If I'm R&R'ing
an engine/trasnmission combo, I usually will slide the whole outfit
towards the passenger's side, install the LH driveshaft, then slide it
back and install the RH driveshaft (which doesn't ever seem to be a
problem.)  You'd be surprised how much difference half an inch can make...
