Flywheel Tech...
Ok...I have been working on replacing the clutch and flywheel on my 16v
rocco and have run into a problem...I re-assembled the clutch assembly
with a new SACHS 16v pressure plate and disk and a new release plate. I
also installed a lightened flywheel from Velocity. Well, now that
everything is back together I can't disengage the clutch disk. I've
adjusted the clutch cable and noticed that the lever the cable attaches to
on the tranny now has very little travel left once the pushrod comes into
contact with the release plate. I suspect that it is not able to fully
depress the pressure plate and release the disk.
Since the only new factor here is the lightened flywheel...could the
flywheel be my problem? Velocity takes an old flywheel and machines both
the friction surface and the mating surface...could these surfaced have
been machined incorrectly and cause the disk to not disengage? I could
always simply put back on a stock flywheel and find out for sure...
Any thoughts/experiences?
Thanks
