Make sure you have all of this in hand.

1.  Newspaper classified with other Scirocco's
2.  Retail value from Kelly Blue  @ kbb.com
3.  Your receipts.

I wiped out my 84 GTI a few years ago.  My fault.  I pulled out in front of a four wheel drive.  Even though it was my fault i went armed with all of my stuff to the State Farm adjuster.  He gave me $3250 for my car and I got the car.

Don't back down or give in.  Just do it nicely !!!
