Broken trip reset fix?

I pressed the button, but the numbers didn't zero, something broke inside. I was stationary at the time. Both the odo and trip still record mileage, (now on 155,000) so I should probably count myself lucky! Anyone fixed this themselves? I'm not going to spend a load of money to get it fixed while I can use the MFA instead.

 

Other self-destructing interior items:

 

Glove box door lock comes off

Sunroof handle keeps falling down

Steering column creaks when turning left

Original steering wheel rim split & came off in chunks

Seat release cable just broke - again

Door panel trim loose

 

Any of this sound familiar?
