Re: How can I improve a 1.5 carb engine ?
Unfortunately Ewan most of us have no expierience with the carbed
motors(all VWs, with a few exceptions, were fuel injected here in the US
after 1978!!!) or trying to eek more power out of a 1.5. The 1.8 injected
engines are so common here in the US that we tend to take it for granted.
But some of the same things might apply, like finding a dual outlet
manifold from a diesel or a 81 Rocco and getting the dual downpipe would
net some horsepower, and of course, if there are any cams designed with
the 1.5 in mind it might not be a bad idea to pick one up! But as far as
bits from the 1.6 going onto the 1.5, I don't know if anything would be
better, the cam *Might* be, I'm not positive.
