I heard from "some guy" that the A1 automatics are the same transmissions 
they put in Dodge Omnis. The Borg-Warner 3-spd trannys.

Is this true?

They're awful, BTW.. I bought an '81 with one of those, and driving home was 
just plain awful. It felt like I was driving an Omni.
