Bret,
Is your '86 an 8v? Just curious... the tranny should go
in no problem. The '78 roccos had the 1.5l engines, might
be nice to swap your '86 into it as well. The exhaust
won't swap, which is just as well considering the '86 8v
had the horrid 4-1 manifold.
I don't know where you live, but if you get salt (or the
car has ever spent time in salt) CHECK IT OUT THOROUGHLY
underneath for rust, especially where the rear axle mounts
to the unibody. And consider not driving it in the winter,
otherwise you'll eventually kill it. (I'm PARANOID about
this, but I live in the rust belt and ALL of them have
rusted that have seen salt)
