3) TB = Throttle Body.   You can use an Audi 5K TB. All U.S. A2 Golfs &
Jettas came with the same TB. Which is the same as the incredibly
overpriced Neuspeed item. You'll want to use the idle adjuster screw from
your old TB and possibly the linkage.

4) The 60mm air flow meters came on 1981, 1982 and early 1983 Sciroccos
(all 1.7 liter). Rabbits were probably ditto for the FI models.
The rest have 80mm meters.

Although there are different lips on the 80mm models, I doubt if there is
much if any difference in output. 

The bigger air flow meter is worth maybe 5hp.

The bigger TB without a port matched intake will get you nothing.

The bigger TB with a port matched intake will get you maybe 2-3 hp. (per
the dyno nuts)

this refers to the air flow meter. It is the part that sits just above
the 
air filter and below the fuel distributer. There are 3 flavors:
60MM came on 82 (and 83?) Sciroccos and perhaps other cars. this is the
one 
to get rid of
80MM flows better easy to instal and doesn't cost much
80MM with narow walls. This one is the biggest and best. You can find one
on 
a 16V and perhaps other models.
You can get a couple of horsepower from switching a 60mm out for an 80mm
