Front setup with 10." rotors

I want to change my 81' Scirocco to the larger front discs.  I know that the
16V Scirocco units will work, but they are hard to find around here.  I also
heard the the Audi 4000 calipers would work.  Will they?  Do they use the
same carriers as well?

No for the master cylinder.  I know I should use the 22mm Scirocco 16V one,
but what else goes into changing that?  Do I need it for the 10.1" fronts
and rear discs?

Last one.  Anyone running 17" wheels with 205/40-17's on a MK1 Scirocco?  I
am but it is quite a tight squeeze.  I want to ditch my wheels for new ones
(lighter ones).  What should I look for in offset for a 7" wide wheel.  I
think the Niche's I have now are +44mm and I need a 1/4" spacer in the rear,
but the front fits awesome.  Any tips?
