hah hah. :) I have plenty of experience with my 9.4's making them
completely (so far) fade resistant. it's an easy solution: ferodos
properly bedded in, a set of Ate Power discs and castrol GTLMA (properly
flushed every year of course). I have done 8 consecutive auto-x runs
(70-80 secs each) with very little cool down time and HARD braking, and not
once experienced a hint of fade. (even with extremely non-ventilated 13"
wheels)
Add these very simple(and VERY cheap compared to the in-demand 11's)
modifications, and in my own opinion I feel that the 10.1" brakes will be
more than sufficient to stop a 2400 lb 16v with no fade.
On a side note PSA: dont forget to rebuild your calipers, it's easy, and it
seems like our calipers are prone to sticking after 15 years. The sticking
will increase heat in your brakes tremendously too, dont overlook it.

what do you mean "if any"? an OE VW 11 inch rotor IS going to be heavier
than an OE VW 10" rotor. I would almost stake my life on it. and it will
effect performance, how noticeably is anyone's guess.

:) not adversely noticeable, but _definately_ adversely affecting your
acceleration! hehe
