I have replaced both the speedo's in my '82 Rocco, and my newly acquired '88
Jetta GL....
I just went to a junk yard and got one for $10 to $20....
had to yank the entire cluster out to do the transplants, and along the way
I fixed a few other
things that were defective.....
Some places even sold me the entire instrument panel cluster for that price
so go figure....
The only thing I had to be careful about was that the "Jetta" had the
little connect thing that the
cruise control device uses so I had to remember to hook that up....
A used parts store wanted anyway from $50 to $85 just for the speedo
head....
