(non-rocco) A216v gti question

i'm trying to help a friend of mine do a bigger brake/rear disc conversion
to his 86 golf....and i've asked around and got no definitive answer about
how the proportioning for the rear discs is acomplished...


i heard that there is some sort of spring type of mechanism that needs to
be adjusted so that when more load is on the rear, it gives different
proportioning.......i found a 16v gti last weekend and found nothing out
of the ordinary on the rear disc set up (looked the same as the 16v
scirocco set up)...did i miss something?...

anyway, i was just hoping that somoene on the list has one and might know
what i'm talkin about, so i can get a definitive answer
