To use the Cabriolet lights (all Cabriolets are A1, BTW) would require
even more fabrication than using MK1 headights.

I also don't think anything larger than 5.75" will work. (which rules out
the Rabbit/A1 Golf/Cabriolet round setup altogether)

ok here's my input... i've heard of some people doing a cabroliet front
bumper
conversion, why not just go ahead and do the lights from the cabby as
well?
