windshield phenomenon

My windshield was busted for 6 - 8 months until yesterday.  I put a
new-to-me (junkyard) windshield in it.  I've cleaned it up, but there
appears to be something impairing my vision that won't clean up.  Have
you ever seen acrylic that's got "stress fractures" in it.  It's not
broken, but it looks like someone's tried to bend it too much.  You get
little micro cracks.  Well, that's what my windshield looks like.  These
marks are more prevalent on the driver's side and don't appear to be on
the inside or the outside.  Therefore, they must be in the middle.  Does
anyone have any thoughts on this?  Thanks.
