Karmann

Karmann is not a car designer. The Karmann coachworks is the factory
where all the "specialty" VWs were/are made. Sciroccos, Beetle
Convertibles, Karmann Ghias, Rabbit Convertibles, Cabriolets, Corrados
and now Cabrios were/are made. The Karmann factory is located in
Osnabruck.

The MK1 Scirocco was designed primarily by Giorgetto Giugiaro of Ital
Design. The MK2 was an inhouse VW design.

FYI -- Actually the plant they were made in was Osnabruck. Karmann is the
name
of the car designer who is responsible for all Sciroccos made. The
Karmann badge
on a Scirocco doesn't signify any special options as does the Wolfsburg
badges.
