You could do like me and just keep it under your seat. If a cop pulls 
you over, throw it into the winsheild or lay it on the passenger seat 
and say "The old bracket was broken and I just ordered a replacement 
from VW. Its on backorder." Its worked for me for years...just don't let 
the same cop catch ya twice! ;^D

Then again, I don't think that getting your car inspected applies to me 
either.....
