Well, in a nutshell. heh right!
OK, I had 2 R1's really trash themselves at my last event. I found 2
OLD-OLD Yoko's up in my rafters which only had 1 little cording patch on
each tire. So I flipped the tire over and mounted them on my rims. Its
what you gotta do when paying the mortgage is more important you know.
Better than street tires!

I ran the SD event this way just fine. Good enough for a 3rd place
finish. No tire wear was noticeable after the event so I thought to
myself, COOL, I can maybe get tonights Devore event in and one more event
with these 2 tires. That would be cool!

So, im at Devore. We run in the first run group. I launch, and the car
has TONS of power and I accelerate much more than I anticipated. There's
is this 9 ft "whoopdie doo" hill that we go over. I was 3rd gear when I
got to it. I braked just before it and the plan was that the hill would
add to the braking force and slow me down. Well, no, up and over and as I
crested the hill, all 4 tires locked. Nothing to do but keep em locked
down. I stop, only knocking over one cone, back up, and continue on the
course.

Going around the left turn hairpin, There's a long straight with a slight
slalom thru it. Im again in 3rd gear and I hear a thumping sound. Brake,
heel-toe, downshift for another hairpin left hander. Car feels fine in
the slow speed turn, so I continue.

Accelerate again, top of second thru a tight sweeping right hander, 4
wheel drift around the apex cone (SCHWING! Not the fastest way, but it
was fun!) and hard braking for yet another left hand hairpin.

(Im getting to it, I only got ONE run so I gotta get my $25 worth out of
it!)
Next up is a short straight with a blind left hand turn. I cant see the
apex cone and I guess that >that< cone is the apex cone. As I got close
enough to realize what cone was what, it was too late for the apex cone
but I turned in anyways and trail braked as good as I could.
That FR tire had flat spotted and also had come apart about the outside
of the tire. There was no cornering traction at all and I slid outside
and off the course @ 45 mph. I got it slowed down as much as I could, I
knew I wasn't going to make it so I just hung on.
(IMPACT)

I finally stopped after hearing all kinda of really bad icky noises. Just
as the car made that rear ward stopping lurch, I saw stars..... about 25
of them all at once. A bunch of spectators in the pits had cameras. (I
realized this later DUH!!.)

I tried to back out, but it didn't move. I was hoping to get back on the
course because the course workers were not to me yet and if I could get 2
wheels back on the track, I could maybe continue.... NOT.

I tried to pull it foreward. Nothing. I was high centered pretty good.
Lucky for me, Rita Wilsey was right there, orchestrating my "Beached Roc
Rescue". 8 people was all it took to get me out. I was stuck on a rock
just behind my RF wheel. I backed out, checked my oil pressure again and
slowly continued on the course and returned to the pits to assess the
damage.
Other than the tire being shreaded pretty bad, I only had one bad mark
under the car. Nothing visible from the outside. Nothing bent either.
Brake lines were clear and clean. I got really lucky compared to the ride
I got. I figured I would of broke something.
Oh, im sorry, did you want the short version? :)

>I.Mannix(as you're obviously fine.....)

No im not really_fine_, but I didn't get hurt.
Bill Gates cant afford the kind of counseling I need!
