Maybe there's a difference between US and Canadian models?  Every Canadian
16v I've seen has had a 2.25" stainless system (incl. mine), but I've never
looked under a US car so I can't vouch for those models.  Maybe I've
already put my foot in my mouth...

Mr. Potterman, what sayest thine microfiche?
