16v in A1 questions

Actually, my question for this is more directed towards golfs/rabbits, but I
wanted to know if it is costly/difficult to put a 16v vw engine into the
rabbit/rabbit gti, and mainly if it is worth the effort, seeing as there are
plenty of golf gtis out there.  Thanks
