Hmmmm.  Thanks for the information.  I'm quite suprised by the fact that
the linkages are significantly different between a 4 speed and a 5 speed
Mk I.  As I stated previously, I did a swap like this about 3 years ago
and everything worked out ok, so I was basing my replies on personal
experience.  Well, ya learn sumthin' new every day, eh?
