I also bought the ABD years ago as my first mod.  I still use it, 
and with a tight linkage, the front to rear throw is pretty nice.
I don't have much problem with side to side throw.  But I would
like to fix the side to side slop I am experiencing.  The bushings are
fairly new - the problem seems to be at the transmission itself and
also, though somewhat less so, at the L-linkage mounted on it.

I guess the Neuspeed short shift kit reduces the throw, thereby
reducing the perceived slop?  Either that or my tranny is just
loose...
