I jumped the two wires and it turned on my back lights. So the
switch is dead.
Q: Could it be my tranny? What if it is in the inside that it
decided not to work?
A: not likely
Q: Is a backup switch expensive? (it's sure is easy to replace!)
A: About $40.00 no more than that
