Take it to someone else!  I'll bet that when they did the motor mount the
shift linkage just got out of adjustment or something is hitting it which is
stopping it from going into gear.  How bad was the mount before you replaced
it?  I can't believe that moving the engine the couple milimeters it moved
from the new mount would cause a bad syncro to show.  I don't know much
about how they work but that opinion sounds WAY off to me.  $1500 is a lot
of money too.  You could probably get a used trans for $500 at the most and
get someone to put it in for $500.  What mount was replaced BTW?  Good luck
