i replaced the water pump and the pressure cap so far but its still
overheating.
im going to replace the thermostat with an 87C, and the fan thermo-switch
will also be an 87C one. i talked to a VW mechanic who has been around for
years and he said it was best to match them for optimized cooling results
FYI.
YES
question; the book says to run the car when filling the rad water until the
thermostat kicks in and water starts to circulate and then replace the rad
cap. it also mentions squeezing the upper rad hose to get out any air
bubbles but doesn't mention what order you're supposed to do this in?? i
assume its after the thermostat kicks in so that theres water actually
circulating. any ideas?
Fill through the top hose of the radiator then the resivior and then start
and top off.
