Re: Bilstein ID

<< The previous owner of my car put Bilsteins on the front and Tokicos
on the back. I would like the get Bilsteins for the back but I don't
know if it has sports or heavy duties on the front and I have to
match them. Are there any serial numbers or product numbers on the
shocks, themselves that I could use to identify them? >>

Why do you HAVE to match them? I'm not familiar with Bilstein's but I would
put whatever their stiffest shock is on the rear, to help a smidgen with a
little less (very little) understeer. (hence the name). A lot of people put
semi-stiff's on their front and super stiff's on their rear. I *essentially*
do this. I have the tokico illuminas--for street I put my fronts to 2 (semi
soft) and my rears to 4 (semi hard). For autox I put my fronts to 1 (really
soft) and my rears to 5 (really hard). Get the super - hard bilsteins.
