Its too easy to just replace the boring 85 mph model with a 100-120mph model. They
install the same, the only difference is the added numbers. Its calibrated already
so there are no mods to do.
I got a 120 mph spedo from a later model Scirocco and because knowing the accurate
car mileage is important to me (I like to know exaxtly how many miles are on my
car) I opened up the spedo and reset the numbers to reflect the ones from my spedo
which I was replacing. Im sure this is eligal, the fact I tampered with the
numbers, but I feel there is no crime when its done to reset the new (used) spedo
to show accurate numbers. Knowing California, ill probably do time for doing it.
Strike one.........
