Re: GTi VR6

>Paid $17,950 for mine.

You stole it!! That's a great deal. I hope I get that lucky. Now I'm
thinking about getting a used one. 95 or 96. I'll be coming back
in June, so a 95 will be 2 years old by then...what should I look out
for when buying? Does the VR6 have valve cover gasket leaking
problems, too? I know the 2.0 sure as hell does! I'd like to go the
1 or 2 year old way because it just seems to me that you lose so
much money when u buy a new car. I feel buying a used car with 15k
or so miles on it is like buying a new car because I drive a lot and
15k would be about 5-6 months of driving and I'd save about $2000.
The thing is trying to find one a year or two old.

I'll probably wait until September actually. That's when I turn 25. Is
that age still a huge insurance break in the States? It is here. It drops in half when you turn 25!

>Do you see many 16V Coraddos?

I've only seen 2. One of them I see quite often (German guy who
works on base) and the other one I saw I don't remember where
sometime when I was travelling. I didn't realize they made them.
I had to get real close to that '16V' on the grill to believe it. That was
when I first got here. Mostly, you see G60 Corrados. Those things
are so fast over here. You see them hauling ass down the 'bahn doing
around 160 MPH! My Scirocco is quicker than US Sciroccos, too.
Must be all those emissions in the States? I had an 86 when I was
there, and it was a bit slower than the one I have now. I've had the
one here doing 210kph(130mph). It'll keep going, too, but unfortunately
that's about 6100 RPM. After blowing up my 81 Scirocco on the autobahn, I tend to watch the tach a little closer! :-) No rev limiters
in Germany! I found out the hard way. It just gave me an excuse to
drop a 1.8 in it, though! But anyway...

Sorry, I have that nasty of babbling. :-)
