is it worth it to try getting a worked up engine from an aftermarket house (like Drake,
TT etc.) or should I just drone around the yards until I find the right one?

Is Drake Engineering still around?  I thought these guys were gone!

...maybe Ron's Parts has one...

Also Bug World and BW in northern California. I don't have the addresses handy, but I can get them.
