Scirocco List Dyno Day 2002

Ben's car resting after running hard on the dyno.

Cathy's, Josh's, and Brett's. Ever get tired of Sciroco rear? :-)

Next up playing spin to win is Jason with his A3 Golf VR6 conversion.

Jason ran a bunch of tests with the filtering system... stock vs K&N vs HOT under hood temps with the cone filter.

All gear run mpeg

Dyno Plots
Eagerly looking in at the differences the filter changes make

Jason's VR6, double thumbs up. :-)

Josh and the hefty 1.8t taking to the rollers.

Josh, is looking to put down some big big numbers, and doesn't dissipoint. He was also accomodating enough to help sponsor our event by shouldering much of the bill. Thanks!

Running his car heated up the garage nicely

1.8t block, stock internals I understand. T3/T4 turbo and a custom 2.5" exhaust

Yee Haw that makes a big noise!

(Renard, Josh, & Brett watch Josh's car spin em)

3rd Gear run mpeg

All Gear run mpeg

Dyno Plots
I think Josh is happy with his cars performance (260HP+ to the wheels)

Wound up on Mt. Dew after some happy dyno'ing.

Jim's 1.8L 16v convetible is next up on the rollers. 2.0L 16v head, stock Scirocco exhaust, .040 overbore, Kent 258 cams.

Just another normal run on the dyno and all that... ;-) We've been trying to get Jims car dialed in for a long while now. It doesn't seem to always do something predictable...
Jim, hoping we get it closer to right this time!

Dyno Plots
Ok, why Jim? After a hard pull to redline, the sudden let-off seems to cause a pressure inversion in the crank case / intake tract...

...which due to the slightly overfilled oil, shot a bubble of hot oil into the intake causing all kinds of scarey smoke. Freaked everyone and made a big mess...cleared up after some running though.

With far less drama, Cathy was up next. Ben and Renard having a technical discussion on something....

Happy to be here Cathy! :-)

2.0L 16v, 50mm intake, euro cam, 1.8L head, TT 2.25 exhaust, lightened flywheel, 3.94 R&P

Several tuning approaches were applied looking for more power (timing, mixtue, etc), but the 1st run was best.
