Anyway, F-18s, my latest experience was at the little mighty Brantford Air
Show, we went because I hadn't seen the Snowbirds in a while. Anyway,
another big draw was the local warbirds, and they had the Firefly, the
Lancaster and a Mitchell all in the air together. Which should have made my
ears very happy except this F-18 pilot was running up his engine right in
front of us. Loud enough to drown out the others a good deal of the time.
It was still a rare pleasure to see them in the air though.
And yeah, we've been in the staging lanes a few times behind the jet
dragsters, and I don't imagine there's as much loose crap on a carrier deck
as there is at this track. NOT a good thing to be behind. But still pretty
cool!
