Update: Sciroccos Impounded, now gone. I'm out. Sad day.

Grant, to begin with, it's clear that you are not stupid, so don't
feel that way. I'm saddened by this, it's just so beyond your control
and feeling helpless when you're a take-chrage sort of person is
really frustrating. I was actually glad when I read this this post to
discover that they hadn't been crushed, that's what I'd expected to
read, so at least your efforts kept them in the hands of an enthusiast
paid off. We all spend too much on our cars for what they're worth in
return, and we all have times when we wonder if it's worth the cost in
time and money. Sad that you didn't get past the pain in the ass part
of ownership though. Could be worse, you could have put a lot of
repairs into an aging mini van or something! I'm guessing that the
fates have a really fantastic Scirocco waiting for you somewhere down
the road, maybe one that you'd never have considered if you still had
these ones. So do hang around, and GL with this exciting part of your
life, and enjoy being engaged eh?
