Buy my shit. On ebay.
nate, you might be one of the first to suggest the s2000. actually,
the s2ks are easy to find (not many color choices, no options--easy to
compare). finding a nice, cheap, '01-02 boxster s is proving much
harder. there's still a $3-4k difference at least between an '01
boxster s and an '04 s2000. the s2000 is actually kinda scirocco
like--high revving, sudden surge of power (at 6k instead of 4k like my
16v), noisy, small, uhh, firm ride ;) the shifter is incredible,
though i don't know what to do with 6 speeds--with a 8200 red line, i
could just as easily be in 2nd or 3rd. the ride isn't harsh--the car
absorbs bumps well, and there are no rattles or anything, but you
still feel EVERYTHING.
i was surprised at how comfortably i fit in it. at 6'2", 185#, the
seats are awesome (i like em better than the porsche) and i have more
headroom with the top up than in the scirocco. the trunk is another
matter...but that's why the g/f is getting a wagon, right?
