BIG engine problem??



Wonder if somebody dropped a nut or something into cylinder 1 or 4 since it's stopping at #1 & 4 TDC but not 2 & 3 TDC.
Unless you have a boroscope sounds like you'll have to pull the head.
As far as the metal shavings it ought to be pretty easy to see where they're coming from. Just look for the abraded surfaces.

I am building a 2.1 with a TDI crank into a 9A bubble block.

Crank spins freely without any problem. I have a specially clearanced
balanced shaft to fit this motor.

It looks like you'll have to disassemble/reassemble to find what is causing
the problem.
