Let's start a retrospective thread

Yeah, to steal the term from another thread, retrospective it is. 

Like what have you done that was good, or a waste of time/money? 
I'll start: 
Engine swaps for more displacement: Very good!
I was discussing with the boy this morning that the only VeeDub in the
driveway with the original engine was the bug.
So for my 8V? Going from the stock 1.6 to the high compression 1.8 with a
few nice bolt ons: Hp increase from 66.6 to 97.7. Yeah, that was worth it.
And I'd say the same for the 2L 16V, but that was also a case of non
running to running, not like I had a good engine taken out.

Styling? Euro bumpers: SO worth it, saves weight too. 
Lighting: Getting rid of the sealed beams... SO worth it.....
So let's hear it then, the list is WAY too slow.....what would you do
again, and what would you not bother with or avoid like the plague....
