Stupid #1 is cutting loose a 500, 800, 1000+ HP racer without adequate 
safeguards (ignition kill switch, guardrails, something).

Stupid #2 is trusting someone else to do that, and standing where the 
shrapnel will get you.

Somebody was stupid... it'll be interesting to watch how it plays out to 
determine who.
