Sounds like you're a value based shopper - perhaps drop in on your  
local Smarty-type-mart, or Tire-ateria and pick up 4 of their loss  
leaders.  Size?  13 or 14?  Sumitomo's are $37 each at tirerack in  
175/70r13, hard to get much less expensive for a tire maker with an  
actual known brand.
