I'm finishing up with my Rocco's sound system.


I HATE headunits. I will never have one. Bad. I don't think there's
one in the world that looks good in the console. It's like having a
perfect car and throwing a giant carbon fiber spoiler on the back.

I have an Alpine 4 channel amp mounted to the underside of my
passenger side non-A/C shelf. (megasquirt is mounted on top with
velcro) You can't see it, but it's there. I turn it on with a switch
on the center console below the shifter. Out of the glovebox comes the
stereo jack, perfect for iPods or the laptop or whatever. I use am mp3
CD player that has AM/FM/TV/WX radio on it. It's cheap, easy, and you
can hide it in the glove box.

The amp has seperate front/rear gain, and also crossovers for both
front and rear chanels, so I stop everything below 100hz for the
fronts. There's a bass boost for the rear channels too!

The front speakers are Infinity Kappa 4x6 plate speakers, the rears
are Infinity Kappa DVC 6.5" 2 way things mounted in the rear door
panels with custom panels to make them flush. I run no rear seat, and
a carpeted false floor.

I am still deciding on a woofer. I'd rather not have one, but I just
so love the deep bass sound so much. I think I'll get an Infinity
Basslink II if I decide to. I'll bolt it down on the left next to the
spare tire.
