It's time to pull the 1.7L engine out of my '81 Scirocco S. It runs super
clean, and would make a great replacement engine. I ran this engine with a
286 cam and it pulled strong up to 7200 RPM. It now has a stock 1.7L cam and
a new valve cover gasket. $50, or trade for a decent skateboard.

I'm also pulling the strong ass 1.8L out of my black '79 16V Scirocco. I'm
using the head, but the short-block is available. The car is still
driveable, so you can hear it run before I yank it.
