To Stretch or Not to Stretch?

This is all for a 1.8L 16V engine.
Ok after we get the crank bolt out which is a hex head non stretch type
should we replace it with the new 12 pt stretch type or reuse the hex head
one?  What is the difference?  I know that you cannot buy the head head one
any more only the 12 pt stretch variety is avalable.  comments?
