my plans for the 9A and 3A
Crank and rods are interchangeable between the 9A and 3A. Aside from details like breather holes the blocks are also essentially interchangeable. I don't know if the 3A has piston oil squirters, but they are a good idea for a turbo engine since they keep the piston cooler.
As far as I know both JE and Wiseco make pistons for either of these engines in either high or low compression the low compression versions typically being around 9:1 CR.

I'm thinking I'm just going to do a 2.0 16v transplant with the 9A. However, I'm thinking of going turbo with the 3A. Can anyone tell me if the 3A is the same as the 9A regarding the low compression pistons like JE? Is the crank and rods the same?
Wondering what pieces I'll need to collect to make it a 2.0 16v turbo later on in life?
