Porsche to take control of VAG

What it might mean is front-wheel-drive Porsches and VW's with really stupid looking interiors.

The thought occurs to me that VW is still behind on the little horsepower race everyone else is in on. Why does my Mom's Infiniti G35 have 280+ horsepower and a top of the line Audi TT has 250? The TT may be smaller and use a little more aluminum, but can't VW send us something along those lines? I know, a 4.2l S4 is closer competition. Just annoying that VAG doesn't make anything that is scary fast from the factory. Seems like that would attract more attention than the stupid Pheaton Phlop. They need something that compares to a GTI or TT like a Z06 corvette does to a regular vette. Something for people to get excited about.

Maybe that's what Porsche will do?

I'd rather it looked like a porsche with a scirocco engine.

Nate Mellom <doubt@inwave.com> wrote: Nope, it'll look like a smushed Nissan Murano with a Porsche engine.

Tonee Northam wrote:
> Does that mean the new scirocco won't look like a smushed nissan murano?
>
> */Nate Mellom /* wrote:
>
> Good/bad for VAG?
> We'll see!
>
>
> Porsche is ready to take control of Volkswagen following a ruling in
> the
> European Union's top court yesterday that will scrap a German law
> protecting VW from takeovers.
>
> The advocate general at the European Court of Justice ruled that the
> so-called "Volkswagen Law" prevented the free flow of capital.
>
> The law was established in the 1960s to prevent foreign takeover of VW,
> and to safeguard German jobs.
>
> It allowed the German state of Lower Saxony, in which VW is based, and
> which owns a 20.8 per cent stake in the company, to safeguard VW
