That's almost (but not quite) as bad as calling the Lord of the Rings
trilogy a movie.

HHGttG first appeared as a BBC radio serial in 1979, then the first two
books, which were novelized versions of the radio show followed shortly
after.  In 1981 it became a BBC television serial, then was followed by some
more books.

In the grand Hollywood tradition of not leaving anything sacred, it was
released as a big budget, big screen production in 2005.

So hoist a Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster to the late Douglas Adams, and go
drive a Scirocco eh?  It's an 80's thing... :)
