Julie's Scirocco day
Wow! You are getting an early start today. We won't even recognize Victor
when you are finished. And yes carpet is much nicer than the Blacktop.
What was Victors running problem when you were at track day north?I am
curious about such things for obvious reasons.
I just got rose back on the road after the trio to Cincy. When I left
the ignition on it not only wiped out the coil it also took out the MSD
box.I had to send it to MSD for repair. It developed an unstable capaciter or
some such thing.while that was being done I sent the Mallory Dist. in for
repair of a bent shaft which was caused when I installed a 1.7 Dist in a ABA
block.I found out the hard way that the drive gear on the dist. shaft has to
be shortened by almost a 1/4 inch.I finally got everything back together but
the mileage sucks so Sue will be my driver today. We are going to take a
long tuning run today in preparation for our 6th annual trip to the Eureka
Springs VW show. This year we will be taking the Cal bug with hopes of
selling it. I need the money so I can start the newest project,a 1965
Transporter.I also just bought a 74 standard Bettle that I hope to flip. All
at once I have way to many Cars, six ,four that are licesened.
I think I am about ready to tackle the MSnS project. As slow as I am about
this kind of thing it probably will take untill Cincy when I can get some
expert help.Things got a little side tracked this year with my running
problems and Dan's nose.
Later my friend,
ole blue

I cant believe I actually vacumned the garage, small stones and all. It has
macadam for the floor and has horrible pointy stones.... After that, I laid
some old carpets under where Victor will stay (makes being under him a LOT
nicer on the back). (Sounds like TMI, but its not....)
2 sheets of hung 4mil plastic form a room that I can cut the paint off the
hood, trunk lid and doors, getting ready to prime. I am 1/2 way through
doing the spare hood and the trunk lid is stripped and prepped ready for
paint stripping.
I did find, however, if the paint is not sealed well, a power washer can
remove LARGE sections of paint. A large section of the DS rear Q and the PS
front fender and door are stripped. Pics later tonight.
Is 6:50 am to early to go out and start the compressor?
