I've been reading all the posts.  I only have one thing to say:

Laws cannot prevent crime.
Laws can only provide for the punishment of crime.

There are 5,000 gun laws on the books.  Five thousand more won't prevent this from happening again.

Only freer carry laws might.

Everyone should have the right to defend him/herself with a legal gun if he/she so desires.  No one is responsible for defending us but us.

I guess that's more than one thing..... :)
