Well we are back, actually have been back a week now. My wife, her cousin
and I
spent 8 days in Bavaria (3driving around and 5 in Munich). For the three
days we drove
around, we got a free upgrade on the rental car to a Volvo S80(TDI). Very
nice car. I actually
saw more Sciroccos there than I do at home, but still not many. We were
behind a very nice
16V for a while, then I saw the driver's side of the car and it was
trashed, front to back. Driving through
Ingolstadt(you all know what is made there, right?) we saw the very cool
Audi R8 driving around. I don't
know how much they are, but we all wanted one. Everytime I saw a shop that
sold toy cars I checked
it out, but never found a Scirocco. Turns out, my wife beat me to it at
one of them and got me a Herpa
1/87 red MkI. I already had one, but you can't have too many. Didn't have
time to check out the BMW
museum while in Munich, so maybe next time. The beer and food was
excellent and the people were
very friendly. Watching a soccer game there was also an experience. Never
did get to try any of the
smoke beer that Marc was talking about a few weeks ago. But, I did bring
home 10 liters of beer(10
1/2 liter bottles and one 5 liter mini keg). So you can guess what I will
be doing this weekend.
