[Opinions] Best budget summer performance tires?

Hey,

I just went through the same thing. My SP Sport 9000's were getting kind of
bald. After asking a bunch of people what were some decent all around tires.
The Falken's got some good reviews for their cheap price and good traction
all around. I settled on some Kumho Ecsta AST tires. There were a ton of
options but for $60 a tire you can't beat it. When I get some larger rims
I'll get some Pilots since I dig them on my M3. Crappy snow traction on the
Pilots but awesome everywhere else.

The Kumho's have little to no road noise, good traction and seem to roll
nice in the rain.

I've heard the Falken's are good too for the buck. They didn't carry those
at the discount tire I went to.

Don't do the 205's on you rims unless you have some Kodiak lips on them.
They'll look kind of funny. I've done that on my Jetta and they looked
strange. 205 50r 15's look weird since the sidewall is taller and they bend
in to the lip. If you have some wider rims that would be ok but 15x7 rims
look better with 195 50r 15's. You can do 195 45r 15's too. Those look kind
of dope but you have to have your car almost on the ground.

Hope that helps.
