Angel Eyes - Talking BMW headlights again

The recent thread re: Ben n' Eric and some ellipsoid
(?) projector lights returned me to thinking about the
daytime running lights some of the BMW models use;
they look like the outside ring of the circular
headlamps are light and glowing.

(Searching for representative link....) A-ha!;

See how the outside edge glows? I'd like to
incorporate this into either the existing round
Scirocco Mk1 headlights OR perhaps graft the BMW units
over.
