head to firewall ground strap

I'd can only guess it was added at some time as another path to ground
to combat the infamous VW floating ground problems.  My car did not
have that one stock, but I added it when I put in the 90 amp
alternator -just because it couldn't hurt.

That one is a mystery.  My car didn't have that one stock either, but
I have seen other cars/trucks with that same ground strap (body to
hood).  Perhaps it was a safety requirement someone dreamed up.
